Set in an Orwellian Dystopian future after a nasty world war 3 in the early part of the 21st century. The population are forced to take drugs that suppress their emotions. You see emotions causes conflict and war.

However some people exhibit emotions by not taking the medicine. They want to listen to music, experience their senses by seeing artwork, read books or having pets.

These people are exterminated by clerics, an elite hit squad. Christian Bale is the best of the clerics but once he stops taking his medicine, he feels for the first time and gets into contact with a resistance group to overthrow the leader.

Filmed in Berlin, Equilibrium comes across like an updated version of Fahrenheit 451 but feels too much like a knockoff of The Matrix with a rather a sterile narrative at the beginning which made it rather uninvolving.

Bale's behaviour is so odd once he stops taking the drugs, he should just had been caught and shot.
So there's a pretty decent chance that _Equilibrium_ doesn't have an original bone in its entire makeup, but I still just **love **it.

_Final rating:★★★★ - Very strong appeal. A personal favourite._

I thought it was nicely made especially the beginning and had a clever emphasis on sound. It wasn't the best written film ever but it did the job as a good, stupid horror film.

It was excruciatingly annoying in parts but I think that was the point.

It won't win any awards for acting or screenplay but it was fun and stands up against most modern, boring horrors.

It reminded me of 'Don't Breathe' which was a really good film too as it took modern horror conventions and played with them in a different way as the main characters had to struggle with the loss of an important sense.
“For a thriller this is a very good choice”


It all starts with a story writer, she lives alone also she got meningitis long back and lost her speaking and hearing ability. She left her family which consists of a dad mom and a sister to live alone is solitary place with just one couple as a neighbor and one more thing to point out is that she has not been talking to her boyfriend .so one night this intruder comes along as soon as she finds out that she is not alone it turns out to be a cat and mouse story for survival and the rest of the movie u guys have to watch have not spoiled anything for you. It has been a while since I watched movies like this from the usual haunting by ghosts. There were some parts in this movie which could have been made better but no complains it was a good one.

**Inside and outside, a cat-mouse game!**

A limited cast film. One night event. The whole film was shot within the three weeks. Minimised dialogues, maximised actions. This film has such a good record those. But apart from the performances and settings, there's nothing special. The same old home-invasion concept with so many flaws. If you are looking for nothing but an entertainment, then this will provide you that. But you should not expect more than that, it will foil you from having a nice time with the film. I enjoyed it too, though when it comes to the rating, I should be honest.

Maddie, an authoress who lost hearing and voice in her childhood is now living in a remote place, somewhat isolated from the people. On an ordinary day, unexpectedly, a masked man who killed her neighbour, is now after Maddie too. When she comes to realise that, the cat and mouse game begins. She locked herself inside. On the other hand the stranger trying to get in. As it goes like that for hours, so many twists and turns take place. How the remaining tale would turn out is should be watched.

Simpleness was the highlight. They did not try too much. Particularly, for a thriller like this, they usually scare the viewers with sudden and loud sounds. This film had those, but minimised. You can't blame for isolated settings too, because such crimes can be easily committed on those backdrops. It's all about Kate Siegel. Her best film, according to me. Nice direction, from one of the latest horror flick maker. But this is not a horror film. It is a terror, a thriller. Short running time and it is worth a try.

Amazing movie!These Fast & Furious movies keep getting better and better! I recommend you go see this movie and hopefully seven comes out!
This is a good movie. It is pretty much what you would expect from a Fast & Furious movie. It could have been a great movie but it is unfortunately dragged down by some of the not too unusual Hollywood stupidity and arrogance towards the viewers.

Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson are perfect in their roles as old-fashioned, hard-hitting, fast-driving macho guys. Michel Rodriquez is doing a decent enough job as well but then I do like Michel Rodriquez so… These guys are making a lot of the movie for me. The rest is not bad but more like filling out some empty space compared to Vin and Dwayne.

This is of course a movie about fast driving, action and special effects. In those areas it does not disappoint. There are lots of fast driving and lots of action and special effects. Not all of it is entirely realistic of course. This is rather expected and I can live with it as long as it doesn’t go to far into the realm of ludicrously unrealistic which it, sadly, did towards the end. Although the effects and fights themselves were quite cool the entire flight escape scene was just ludicrous. They were driving at take-off speed, both on the ground and in the air, for how long? 20 minutes? That must have been the worlds longest runway. This is what I call Hollywood arrogance towards the viewers. Do they really think the viewers are so stupid that they will just buy this? Or is it that they themselves are so utterly stupid that they do not realize how utterly wrong the entire thing is? For me this really dragged down an otherwise great movie.

Otherwise the movie is a nice blend between macho talk, action, lots of fast driving, some humor, some more action, some more fast driving and lots of chars getting smashed. In short all the things that make up a good fun action movie. The story itself? Well, as far as I am concerned, fairly standard issue which held the action together reasonably although the basic idea and technical aspects, especially this “EMP chip”, where not very believable.

On the whole, it was a good and enjoyable movie which good have been great if it were not dragged down by Hollywood stupidity.

Totally forgettable and full of stereotypes
Edgar Rice Burroughs wrote his series of John Carter novels before space flight was more than a fancy. This movie is more adventure and romance and very little (if any) actual science.

This movie is the best production of A Princess of Mars, the first story in the series, that I've seen.

If you're a fan of the John Carter novels then you will probably get some enjoyment from John Carter. While there are some differences you'll meet some familiar characters and recognize quite a few relevant plot points.

Not a great film, but not a bad one, either.
We sat down and watched this movie on Blu-ray yesterday evening to nicely end our little excursion day. This is a good film but it could have been (much) better.

The film itself and its special effects are quite good. I would say that the special effects are very good. The airships are very cool looking. The design nicely captures the retro atmosphere of the book without looking silly. I think they made the green men too slim though. I have always pictured them as way more bulky and monstrous. I like Woola’s appearance although him moving around at “supersonic” speeds is a bit over the top.

However, why is it that every film-company/producer/director/whatever now thinks that he can take an old classic, slam on the name in the title, and then do what the hell he likes with the material? This film has borrowed the basic idea and the names from Edgar Rice Burroughs John Carter book but almost nothing else. At most 10% of the story of the books is in the movie. The rest is pure invention and it does not improve the story. As a matter of fact it turns what was a good story into a standard unintelligent Hollywood faire. Been there, seen that, done that.

The examples are plentiful, the white apes the size of dinosaurs, the city of Zodanga moves around (what the f…), most of the plot as I said before is invented, the Therns have a completely different role etc. etc.

I especially dislike how they have made John Carter, the honorable gentleman from Virginia, into a fairly plain American guy who at first refuses to do the “right” thing. And what about these bloody wife and child flashbacks? That’s just disturbing.

None of this improves the movie. It got 6 stars, it could have gotten 9 or 10 if it had followed the books properly. It is Disney’s own fault that this movie was a disappointment at the box office, they screwed with classical material…again.
